A Benefit Auction For The Clara Lionel Foundation

Early November Rihanna announced the details of the second annual Diamond Ball, which includes celebrity guests and musical performances. And once again, it’s all for a good cause. The Diamond Ball will raise money for Rihanna’s very own charity, the Clara Lionel Foundation. The legendary Lionel Richie is set to perform as a special musical guest and comedian Kevin Hart will serve as M.C. for the star-studded event.

On the occasion of Paddle8’s benefit auction, which will culminate in the second annual Diamond Ball in Los Angeles on December 10, took a look at @BadGalRiri’s social feeds to take stock of the many artful and interesting things that seem to make the singer tick. Among auctioned items you will find 8 of Rihanna’s collections and obsessions. A selective assortment of art, fashion, and jewelry items over which the acclaimed superstar, international style icon, and forward-thinking philantropist fan-girls out.

1. She Raves About Roy (Nachum)
Rihanna was reportedly introduced to the work of the New York City-based Israeli painter, sculptor, and installation artist Roy Nachum by Jay-Z. After the two artists met and connected, Rihanna commissioned Nachum to create paintings for her forthcoming studio album, Anti (which is being released this week on Tidal, and to the public on December 4.) The cover art features a black and white image of Rihanna as a child, holding a black balloon, with a golden crown over her eyes. The full canvas is embossed in braille with the poem “If They Let Us,” by Chloe Mitchell. The singer has called the finished product her favorite album cover to date and says it represents the fact that “sometimes the ones who have sight are the blindest.”

2. She’s a Futbol Fanatic
The Barbadian beauty has a serious fascination with futbol. Last year sports blogs lit up when rumors swirled that she was interested in buying a team—Liverpool FC—and not long after that, celebrity tabloids excitedly ran photos of the singer stepping out with Real Madrid star player Karim Benzema. Her passion for the sport continues, as evidenced by her October Insta posting with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, which she cheekily hashtagged #TrappQueen.

3. She Covets Creepers
The multi-hyphenate’s style cred is no joke, and her 2015 collaboration with Puma has been a record-breaker. The Fenty by Rihanna collection—featuring multiple styles of sleek creepers—debuted in September and sold out almost instantly. The CFDA honoree is clearly proud of the design: She’s been spotted in them all season and Instagrams them often. A fresh influx of creepers featuring new colors and men’s sizes were introduced in November, just in time for holiday wish lists. (Those who have been desperately trying to score a pair of shoes likely relate to the “Disturbia” lyrics: “it can creep up inside you and consume you.”)

4. She Bows Down to Bang Bang
With an estimated 24 tattoos at present, the 27-year-old clearly loves her ink. Her artist of choice? Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy. The celebrity favorite has worked on everyone from Justin Bieber to Katy Perry to Cara Delevingne, but has made headlines for the tattoos he’s done for Rihanna. Her latest Bang Bang original was debuted on Instagram this past August: “1988,” the year of her birth, above her right ankle.

5. She Adores Dior
Earlier this year, Rihanna made history as the first black woman to front a Dior campaign—she starred in the latest installment of the French label’s “Secret Garden” series. And they couldn’t have picked a more perfect spokeswoman, as the singer makes no secret about her love for the brand and its creative director, Raf Simons (who announced his departure in September). This past spring, she posted to photos of a new Dior bag signed by Simons with the caption “my new fav’ @dior purse. signed by my fav’ #RafSimons” and then three weeks later published a photo of herself in a Dior look with the caption “girls just wanna have fun…and Dior!”

6. She Swoons for Koons
The singer was gifted with Koons’ “GOAT. Champs Edition”—a special edition of Koons’ Radial Champs sculpture with the addition of Taschen’s Muhammad Ali monograph GOAT – GREATEST OF ALL TIME—by her creative director, Ciarra Pardo, last Christmas and deemed the 2004 work “sexy.”

7. She’s Gaga for Goyard
The Barbadian performer is known for as much for her design savvy as her edge—and both were fully on display in her recent video for “Bitch Better Have My Money.” The very NSFW video, directed by the singer, prominently features a vintage Goyard trunk, which the video’s protagonist uses to transport a hostage—in an attempt to, if the lyrics are to be believed—get some money she’s owed from the woman’s husband. The singer Instagrammed the trunk with the caption “I keep my hostages in style…my vintage Goyard trunk #BBHMMvideo.” In real life, singer has also been spotted toting the brand’s iconic logo bags.
